How to Hide Your Facebook Groups

This may seem to be too secretive for some, but some people are members of groups on Facebook that would feel better if they could keep others from knowing about it.

For instance, there are many depression and other self-help groups on Facebook that are private groups, which means that you can post freely without everyone being able to read your group posts. However, these groups appear (in name only) on your public profile.

You might not want your coworkers, neighbors, and family to know that you are depressed or that you have battled depression.

Or perhaps you are simply pursuing a new interest and aren’t sure that you want to broadcast that to the world just yet.

There is a way to keep these groups from appearing on your pubic profile to help you maintain your privacy, and I have found it.

How to hide your Facebook groups:

  1. First, you need to be on your Timeline. Click on your profile pic to get there. Facebook-manage-sections-hide-groups
  2. Below your name and cover photo, you will see the following categories:
    Timeline | About | Friends | Photos | More
  3. Click on “More.” At the bottom of that popup menu (scroll down) you will find “Manage Sections.” (see photo)
  4. Click on “Manage Sections.” In the popup menu that appears, you will see all the features that show on the left side of your Facebook page, indicated by a check-mark.
  5. UNCHECK any features, such as Groups, that you do not want to appear.

Well Done.

As you might notice, you can also rearrange the features of your sidebar by simply dragging and dropping them into place.

Here is the Facebook Help section where I located this information on hiding groups.

On your Timeline click the MORE tab below your Cover Photo,
select Manage Sections,
  • in the check box menu that opens you can select to not show a Groups section in the left column of your Timeline, in your About or in the MORE tab menu by unchecking the Groups item.

How to Manage Time

First of all, this is NOT one of those how-to articles that help you get organized with lists, calendars, and priorities.

It is, however, a more poetic philosophy on how to manage time.

For instance:

How to escape time: Music

That’s exactly what I did for two glorious hours last night, by watching and listening to the Bee Gee’s Tribute. It was a wonderful end to a wonderful day. Their music was, and still is, the music of my life. Love them!

Now I guess it’s time to Feel some Time, which is what happens when I Write.

And later, I’ll release some time… but actually, we do that every second of every day. I guess it would be better to say that I will become more aware that I am releasing time, with every breath I exhale.

May we all spend more time making the most of our time.

Numerology for May 2017

I love the many and varied methods of divinology. My favorite continues to be Tarot and Oracle Cards, because they are directly tied to my own energy and have given me amazing guidance in the past. Some believe that such readings also employ the generous guiding energy from angels, spirit guides, ancestors, and other benevolent beings.

Reading the cards, in my opinion, is similar to bibliomancy, which is a common practice among many of the religious.  Bibliomancy is when people choose to open a book randomly, seeking a word of wisdom or guidance. Again, this practice also draws from the energy of the seeker, and some believe from God or Jesus, or even the angels and the saints, especially when the chosen book is the Bible.

But today I read about my personal numerology for May, 2017. It has some good advice, so I think I’ll follow it. Interestingly, I love learning new things, so this is right on target.

Personal Year 7 — Personal Month 3

Oh golly! The 7 doesn’t enjoy the 3 any more than it does the 2. You can, however, always find something that challenging numbers share. If 2017 feels a bit more isolating for you (7), than this is also a month to begin studying a new craft, a new hobby, or a new topic. The 3 will remind you that it needs to be FUN. After all, that’s a keyword for the 3. It doesn’t matter what you want to learn, so if you believe physics is fun, go for it. It’s up to you. Don’t give into boredom — learn something new. Remember — make it FUN!

To learn what the coming month has in store for you, or to see what the numbers say (just for fun), check out Cheryl Patton’s predictions at Medium.com.
